Kindle Apps

Amazon has begun slowly rolling out Kindle applications.

The tested the waters by releasing two free apps a few weeks ago, Every Word and Shuffled Row, and today Scrabble has gone on sale for $4.99.

As a life-long cheap-ass, I have to say that $4.99 is highway robbery, particularly when the game lacks any online multiplayer component. But this is the beginning of a larger plan for the Kindle; something that may prove to be invaluable as 2011 becomes the year of the eBook and many clones and competitors start hitting the streets.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow

This trailer is seven minutes long.

It’s in Japanese with english subtitles.

It doesn’t show any actual gameplay.

…but you should watch it anyway. This is the breathtaking rebirth of Castlevania that gamers have been waiting for; more than twenty years since the original debuted on the NES. It’s looking spectacular and hits Xbox 360 and PS3 on October 5th in North America.

The Last Guardian is looking slightly less impressive now, especially with a “Holiday 2011″ release date. New teaser though:
