Archive for December, 2002

My grandmother’s in town for the week, so we all went out to dinner last night at Marie Calendar’s. They’ve got some good meatloaf over there, but the sauce/gravy was a little too thick for my taste. I like just plain meatloaf with either a little ketchup or A1 on the side.

I was on call last night, and I didn’t get much sleep. This whole week is turning out to be a pretty weird one. I’m taking the next two days off for the holiday, then I’m coming back to work to try and get some work done in an empty office!

Everybody makes fun of me for playing Super Mario Sunshine. I mean everybody. Except Tammy.

I like it though, and that’s all that matters!

The Disneyland Resort will soon receive Disney’s first untethered, interactive, anamatronic actor. Read all about it!

It’ll either be really cool, or really lame. I’ll let you know once I see it!

The other night I had a dream that I was like BANJO MASTER. I was seriously the best damn banjo player in the world.

It inspired me to look into how much a good banjo would cost when I woke up, which then inspired me to not buy one!

Tammy and I didn’t go to Disneyland last night like we have the last two or three years. We were just too pooped. We did see the fireworks from the 57 freeway when we were driving home, though!

We will be there on Tuesday night for New Year’s Eve for sure. I’d wager that December 31st is consistently the most crowded day at Disneyland year-round.

Everybody’s excited to be there, nobody cares too much about going on rides, and everyone has a good time! It’s definitely not a regular day at Disneyland though. Last year Small World Mall had a DJ blasting techno music through Fantasyland.

We might spend this year over at DCA though, depending on what kind of mood we’re in. There will be no less than five bands playing south of the esplinade, and I’m sure the place will be deserted as always.

For Christmas Tammy got me a GameCube with Super Mario Sunshine, the only game that I wanted! What a gal!

Somehow my Nokia 5165 wasn’t recognizing my security code. It didn’t prevent me from using the phone, but apparently you have to use the security code to clear out all of the messages in your inbox at once.

Here’s the thing though…I never changed that security code, and the default (12345) was apparantly not the right one!

So I did some research and found a secret programming menu on the phone!

If you’ve got a 5165 or any similar Nokia phone, go to the main screen and press *3001#12345#. That’ll get you into the secret NAM programming area. Scroll down to ‘security’ and you can view (and change) the current code.

Strangely enough, it showed my code as being ’12345′. I reset it to be ’12345′ anyway, and now it works.

I never have to use that security code for anything, so I’m guessing the EEPROM must have got scrambled up somehow over the past few months.

Stargate SG-1 just got renewed for another year on Sci-Fi. I have mixed feelings about this.

On the one hand, I know that the money going to Stargate is the same money that would go to another season of Farscape, so part of me is annoyed.

On the other hand, SG-1 is one of the few intelligent Sci-Fi shows on the air today, and I really enjoy it.

Of the two, Farscape was much cooler!

Don’t forget! Sci-Fi will throw a Farscape marathon on Christmas Eve Day – next Tuesday! They’ll play the first 11 episodes of season 4 from 8am to 7pm.
